HCISD Launches “Stuff the Bus” Food Drive After a Heartwarming Thanksgiving Outreach

The holidays are a time for giving, and Harlingen CISD is inviting our community to make a difference. From December 3–16, each campus will be collecting canned goods and non-perishable items as part of the district’s Stuff the Bus food drive.

This food drive builds on the generosity already seen during HCISD’s Thanksgiving outreach. In November, the district’s Family and Community Engagement Department distributed more than 270 Thanksgiving meal baskets complete with a turkey and a variety of canned goods and sides to families across the district.

This incredible effort was made possible thanks to the support of local partners. HCISD extends its sincere appreciation to Capital Towing LLC and TowBoat US, whose generous donation of 200 turkeys made a significant impact on this year’s distribution. Their contribution, along with support and additional donations from the Harlingen Hunger Coalition, Sunburst Rotary Club of Harlingen, the Blue Knights, New York Life, Cameron County 4-H, Girl Scout Troop 4138, ensured that families across the district were able to enjoy a warm Thanksgiving meal.

HCISD hopes to carry that spirit forward through our Stuff the Bus food drive. The district encourages students, families, staff, and community members to join the effort.
