The Harlingen High School and Harlingen High School South Track Teams had an outstanding performance at the Regional IV-5A Track and Field Championship on April 26.
Both teams had a combined total of three students qualify for the State Track Meet that will take place at the University of Texas in Austin May 9-10.
From HHS, Hayden Flores was named region champion by earning first place in the Pole Vault event. Roman Hernandez received second in the 300 Hurdles event.
Also qualifying for state was HHSS student Marco Castro who received second place in the 100-meter dash.
With the Regional tournament out of the way, both teams will remain focused on refining their skills for the State Track Meet.
