Coakley student selected to attend Middle School Presidential Inaugural Conference

Ande Beasley, eighth grade student at Coakley Middle School, will be one of the few students from across the nation to take part in the Presidential Inauguration this month.

Beasley was selected to attend the five-day Middle School Presidential Inaugural Conference held in Washington D.C. She was selected because of her heavy involvement with the National Junior Youth Leadership program the past two summers.

By participating in inaugural events and festivities, she will have the opportunity to expand her knowledge of principles of politics, the presidential election process as well as deepen her understanding of the history behind the electoral process and the rich traditions surrounding the Presidential Inauguration. She will hear from keynote speakers at the conference including former first daughters Barbara Pierce Bush and Jenna Bush Hager.

Beasley will attend a special viewing party and luncheon where they will watch the cermony of the inaugural parade on large viewing screens, as the President, Vice President and their families make their way down Pennsylvania Avenue from the U.S. Capitol Building to the White House. To further commemorate Inauguration Day, she will attend an exclusive Gala Inaugural Celebration at National Harbor.

This is the second time Beasley has visited Washington D.C. Her involvement with the National Junior Youth Leadership program has enabled her to visit the summer of her sixth grade year and Boston the summer of her seventh grade year.
