Vela Middle School students Aaron Blount and Kole Kibler gave outstanding performances at the Harlingen South TFA State qualifying speech and drama tournament on September 24. The seventh-grade students competed with 30 high schools and middle schools from across the valley and Corpus Christi area.
Kibler placed 2nd out of 98 students in Novice Prose Interpretation while Blount took 3rd out of 98 students in Novice Prose Interpretation and 6th out of 62 students in Novice Poetry Interpretation.
