Recent Harlingen High School graduates John Hallett, Nathan Prado and Omar Hunter are getting to continue their athletic careers as they move to the next level of their education.

All three-student athletes have signed on to continue playing football at the collegiate level. Hallett will be playing for Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas. Prado has signed on to compete for the Texas Lutheran University football team and Omar Hunter will continue his athletic career as a member of the Notre Dame football team.

Parents, friends, administrators and community members gathered to watch Hallett and Prado sign their letters of intent on July 25, while Dumont had previously signed earlier this year.

With the excitement, both Hallett and Prado are looking forward to what the future will hold.

“I’m honestly excited for the opportunity to continue competing and about college in general,” said Hallett. “I’m thankful for this opportunity and I plan on getting things done. I have leaders around me, and it’s because of those leaders that I have my head screwed on right.”

“I’m looking forward to a new experience,” said Prado. “It’s an amazing opportunity to be able to compete at the next level and go away for college. I’m the first one to leave for school in my family. It’s a dream come true.”
