Orchestra students from the middle and high school campuses had a strong showing at the Region Orchestra Auditions on Oct. 20 and Oct. 22.
Students across the Rio Grande Valley competed for a spot in Region Orchestra.
Coakley Middle School and Vela Middle School had 27 and 24 students awarded chair positions, respectively.
Guitierez Middle School had five students, and Vernon Middle School had a violists earn a spot on the orchestra. Memorial Middle School had two violists awarded a chair.
Harlingen High School had eight violinists; four viola players, three cellists, and two string bass players earn a chair in the orchestra.
Thirty-two students from Harlingen High School South were awarded chair positions.
Students in the Region Orchestra will participate in a rehearsal clinic and perform for the public at Donna High School on Nov. 10.
