Six very talented students were chosen to represent the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District last week at the annual Texas Choral Directors Association Conference in San Antonio held July 27-30.
Students Colleen Cummins, Sophia Lopez, Gabriela Garza, Yancianna Delgado, Mariah Molina, and Camila Vallejo were invited to participate as a result of their superior auditions.
They had the distinct privilege of joining the 2014 TCDA Elementary Honor Choir in a public concert held at the culmination of the conference.
The Honor Choir rehearsed several hours each day for three days, with internationally renowned guest conductor, Dr. Doreen Rao. She is recognized for her moving concerts, inspirational teaching, and changing the landscape of music education in America.
