On October 2 the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District kicked off its Farm Fresh Friday’s program. To mark the occasion, students across the district had the opportunity to sample delicious fruit from River’s End Nursery in Bayview, TX.
Each Friday in the month of October, school cafeterias will feature delicious local produce in celebration of National Farm to School Month, an initiative that aims to connect students with fresh, healthy food and local food producers.
