The Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District was named a 2013 Gold Leadership Circle Award recipient by the Texas Comptroller on April 8.
The Texas Comptroller Gold Leadership Circle is a program which recognizes local governments across Texas that are striving to meet high financial transparency online by providing citizens with a clear, consistent picture of spending as well as sharing district information through the web.
HCISD was one of 59 districts from across the state of Texas to receive this award. Through an application process and voting committee judging specific criteria, HCISD was given a certificate, and a listing on the Texas Transparency website for its success in joining the Leadership Circle.
