The Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District is gearing up to celebrate higher education.
On May 3, the district joins the community in celebrating GenTX (Generation Texas) Day with a fun fair complete with giveaways, information sessions, music and face painting at the Texas State Technical College Service Support Center. The festivities are scheduled from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
GenTX Day celebrates all students, especially graduating seniors, and their next steps toward realizing their futures. Communities across Texas are coming together to applaud their successes and support them as they prepare to go to college and begin career training.
To show support and join in the movement, the public is encouraged to wear their favorite college t- shirt for the day.
