The Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District is teaming up with RGV LEAD, Texas State Technical College. Lower Rio Grande P-16 Council and GenTX to host the district’s Passport to College: an Eighth Grade College and Readiness Fair on Jan. 23.
The fair invites parents and eighth grade students to participate in an evening dedicated to early college preparation. Informative sessions will be presented on topics including programs of study, six-year plans, Grade Point Average (GPA), ranking and credit accrual and family financial literacy.
The Dr. Abraham P. Cano Freshman Academy will host the informative evening. The fair will begin at 6:00 p.m.
The mission of the event is to educate parents and students on steps they can take to start preparing for college and their future career.
