During a special meeting on May 20, the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees approved a change to the 2013-2014 academic calendar.
The Board of Trustees approved the decision to realign the district’s Spring Break with the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show. Spring Break for HCISD will now be held from March 10 through March 14. The previous calendar had Spring Break marked from March 17 through March 21. This adjustment comes after the board approved the first calendar earlier this year.
