The Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Antonio Layton as the Associate Principal at Harlingen High School South, Melonie Flores as Content Area Science Specialist, and Sandra Achtsam as Content Area Math Specialist.
Layton will serve as Associate Principal at HHSS after serving as Assistant Principal at Harlingen High School since 2011. He has worked in education since 1997 as a math teacher at La Joya and Edinburg ISD. During his time in Edinburg, he also performed the duties of Instructional Technology Specialist.
Flores has worked in education since 2001 as a math teacher at HCISD and San Benito ISD. Most recently, she served as San Benito ISD’s Director of Staff Development.
Achtsam has over 20 years of experience in education. She previously served as a math teacher at Memorial Middle School and most recently an instructional facilitator at Gutierrez Middle School.
