HCISD’s mission is to provide all students with a world-class education that allows them to develop the knowledge, skills, and learning habits necessary for global achievement. In support of this mission, the aim is for students to flourish as well-rounded individuals by providing them with numerous opportunities to excel and achieve personal growth in the Three A’s – Academics, Arts, and Athletics.

Extracurricular programs take learning beyond the classroom, create further avenues for success, instill in students a sense of pride in school and community as well as teach the lifelong lessons of teamwork and determination.

College signing days are a great opportunity to rally around students, show them support, and celebrate their choice in making a commitment to higher education. This blog post, organized from latest to earlier signings, will provide continuous updates of athletic signings taking place throughout HCISD.

Nathan Ramon signed his letter of intent on May 24 to play baseball for St. Edwards University. St. Edwards is a NCAA Division II school and competes in the Heartland Conference.

Jorge Garcia signed his letter of intent on May 24 to play tennis for Concordia University Texas. Concordia is a NCAA Division III school located in Austin, Texas and competes in the American Southwest Conference.

Sky Tatum signed his letter of intent on May 21 to run track for The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. UTRGV is a NCAA Division I school and competes in the Western Athletic Conference.

Jasmyn Tulloch signed her letter of intent on May 17 to run track for the Vaqueros of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. UTRGV is a NCAA Division I school and competes in the Western Athletic Conference.

Kaylee Gushwa signed her letter of intent on May 16 to play soccer for the Tigers of the Central Christian College. CCC is a NAIA school located in McPherson, Kansas, and competes in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

Dylan Martinez signed his letter of intent on May 10 to play golf for the Lions of the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith. The University is a NCAA Division II School, located in Fort Smith, Arkansas and competes in the Heartland Conference.

Jacob Caneales signed his letter of intent on May 3 to play tennis for the Mountaineers of Schreiner University. Schreiner is a NCAA Division III School, located in Kerrville, Texas and competes in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Marcus Ramirez signed his letter of intent on May 2 to pole vault for The University of Texas at San Antonio. UTSA is a NCAA Division I school and competes in Conference USA.

Justin Davis signed his letter of intent on March 19, to play football for the Bulldogs at Texas Lutheran University. TLU is an NCAA Division III School, located in Seguin, Texas and competes in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Klarissa Gonzalez signed her letter of intent on March 7, to play soccer for Our Lady of the Lake University. Our Lady Of The Lake University is an NAIA Division I school located in San Antonio, Texas and competes in the Red River Athletic Conference.

Harlingen School of Health Professions senior signed her letter of intent. She will play midfield for the Roadrunners at the University of Texas at San Antonio and will be studying in the medical field. UTSA is a NCAA Division I school and is a member of Conference USA. Click here for more photos.

On Thursday, Jan. 25, students, administrators, and staff celebrated a proud moment for the 2018 legacy class of Harlingen School of Health Professions. Senior Brandon Garza became the first student-athlete to sign his letter of intent to play sports at the collegiate level. He will be playing golf for Bethany College, a NAIA Division I school located in Lindsborg, Kansas. The College competes in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Daisy Gallegos signed her letter of intent on Jan. 18 to pitch for the Bulldogs at Jarvis Christian College. She plans to pursue a degree in physical therapy. Jarvis Christian College, located in Hawkins, Texas, is in the NAIA division and is a member of the Red River Athletic Conference.

J’den Alexis Gonzalez signed her letter of intent on Jan. 16 to play outfield for the Bulldogs at Jarvis Christian College. She will be studying Early Childhood Education. Jarvis Christian College, located in Hawkins, Texas, is in the NAIA division and is a member of the Red River Athletic Conference.

Harlingen High School South athlete, Annelle Rodriguez, signed her letter of intent to play volleyball for Temple College on Dec. 15. Temple College is a NJCAA Division I school located in Temple, Texas and competes in Region 5 of the NJCAA.

On Dec. 8, Harlingen High School Baseball Player, Connor Harlan signed his letter of intent to pitch for the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles. He will be majoring Criminal Justice. Oklahoma Wesleyan University is in the NAIA division, located in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Members of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.
